15 Sheet Heavy Duty Crosscut Shredder with Pull-Out Wastebasket

Basket full light comes on but the basket is empty.

  • These models have a basket full sensor and will not operate when the basket is full. The shredders have sensors on the bottom side of the shredder head that can detect if the basket is full. The most common reason for a false reading, where the bin full light comes on but the shredder basket is empty, is dirty sensors on the bottom side of the shredder head.
  • To rectify this issue, follow the steps below:
    1. Turn shredder OFF
    2. Unplug the shredder
    3. Pull basket out
    4. Locate the sensors from the underside of shredder head. The sensors will look like small glass beads or lens. Wipe these sensors with a soft cloth dampened with water. NEVER TOUCH BLADES WITH FINGERS. SERIOUS INJURY MAY OCCUR.
    5. Push wastebasket in
    6. Plug shredder into outlet
    7. Turn shredder ON to operate.
